Pinckney District Committee of Palmetto Council has
established an annual District Scouting Award to be known as the Pinckney
Patch. Each year the Pinckney Patch will recognize both Scouts and
Scouters within the District that demonstrate Scouting spirit and active,
consistent participation in District and Council events and programs.
The Pinckney Patch will be awarded at the District Banquet
each year and the Banquet will also mark the beginning of the new year for
the Pinckney Patch requirements. The Pinckney Patch award can be earned by
Cub Scout, Boy Scouts, Venturing, and all registered adults within the
Pinckney District or its respective units only.
To earn the Pinckney Patch, a Scout or Scouter
must participate in and demonstrate Scout Spirit at least five (5) of the
following events or activities within the Scouting year:
- Annual District Banquet
- Spring Pinckney Camporee/Aquatics Camporee
- Scout Show
- Summer Camp
- Cub Scout Day Camp
- Fall Pinckney District Camporee
- Sell Popcorn or Discount Cards
- Cub Scout Family Campout
- Pinewood Derby
- Fun with Son Cub or Webelos Campout at CBH
- Scouting for Food
- Pinckney Merit Badge College
- Commissioners College
- Woodbadge
- NYLT
- Kodiak
- Voyager Canoe Camp
- Winterfest
- Philmont or National Adventure Base
- National Jamboree
- Attend a minimum of 6 overnight weekend campouts with
unit within year
- Service Project or work weekend at CBH (if multiple,
only counts once for five total required)\
An award completion log must be submitted by each Unit
Leader to Pinckney District by February 1, 2010 indicating each Pinckney
Patch eligible Scout and Scouter and their respective qualifying events.
